Michael Blackstock is a member of the UNESCO-IHP expert advisory team on water and cultural diversity.  

Michael has designed a "Blue Ecology Hydrologic Cycle" diagram which he first presented in Itlay, October 13-16th, 2009 at the International Hydrologic Sciences Association's Capri Hydrologic Conference.  This artwork (diagram) is an alternate and equally valid perspective as compared to Western Science's hydrologic cycle.
